So my sister made a blog and I realized that after I read hers, I have a lot to talk about. I am a very opinionated person and since I've come to college, I feel like that voice has been lost in the 45,000 + college population. I want someone to hear my voice and see if they agree. Even if you don't like what I say, understand that it is my opinion and it doesn't make me right or wrong.
This blog is just going to be about everything that goes on in my life. If you cant tell from the title, I'm Jewish, and a proud Jew at that. Growing up, I felt isolated sometimes because I grew up in a prominently Christian town. They are nice to recognize the Jews in town on Hanukkah because they put up a huge menorah on our main road. However, that was pretty much it. I always had to take off from school for the Jewish religious holidays, while we all had Christmas and Easter break (they changed them to winter and spring break, but we all knew what they were for.) After I graduated high school, they did decide to take off for the Jewish holidays, which makes me very happy, but I just wish it had happened sooner. I feel it is important for us Jews to have a voice, since we are getting beat down from all sides. I am a Sociology major with a Jewish Studies minor and one of my classes is really showing me how bad the conflict really is in Israel. I will talk about it in another blog because I am a Junior in college and I have crap loads of work to do!
So I hope you will enjoy the spontaneous and random blog posts that I will be putting up. They will be about anything that matters to me.
If you don't like what I have to say, please don't be rude and say hurtful things. That is just being childish. You can disagree with me, but you don't have to be hateful about it. Thanks! :)
